Partners & financial transparency

We believe in working in partnership, and in the open. Here are the organisations behind us and the way we govern ourselves.

Governance in the open

Association Afrique de l’Est et ses amis is a non-profit organisation governed under Alsace-Moselle local law. Decisions are collective, democratic and open to scrutiny.

Annual elections

The board and the executive committee are re-elected every year by the general meeting of members.

Financial transparency

Our accounts are certified each year and presented publicly in our financial report, available on request.

Overheads kept low

More than 92% of our resources go directly to work on the ground with families.

Financial transparency: where the money goes

Programmes (classes, translation, employment)92.4%

* Certified figures for the 2025 financial year. The association qualifies for French tax relief as a public-interest organisation (articles 200 and 238 bis of the tax code).
